THE EVIL EYE SIGHT

It is the look of one individual to other, whether melice or envy, to waive the properities out of the looked on. In actual this is the real censured envy.

It may not be but from a malice. Regarding eye look which is accompanied by envy it is but only a reflect of admire and self exultation, when the state of admire and surprise are overwhelming, without any intention for the removal of prosperity .

This state is found in any body even in the self of virtuous people, though the source is the same, ie. The look. It was told by Ibn Jijar as reported in Fath Al-Bari “A look of appreiation blemished with envy from a naturally miliced man definitely a harm will happen to the looked on” . This is in regard to the first party, but for the second party it is as already happened to Amer Ibn Rabeeah, one of our prophet’s (Gold pay mercy upon him) comrades .

The writers of The prophet’s Ahadeeth (Sunan), Ahmad and Ibn Hayan reported from Abi Umamah Bin Sahl Bin Hunaif when he said that his father discoursed to him that the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation traveled along with him comrades to a water place until they reached Al-Kharar canyon side of Juhfah , Suhail Bin Hanif took a path, he was white slimy body and skin, As Amer Bin Rabeeah looked at him and said : I never seen as today’s even a hidden skin, then Suhail fell on the ground, The prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation saw the incident and said: Do you accuse any body, they said : Amer Bin Rabeeah , the prophet called Amer and agrily and said: how anybody of you kills his brother? If you see anything admiring you will kneel down?

Then added: wash him, Amer began washing the face, hands, elbos and knees and edges of foods and inside the apron using a pawl, then he ordered to pour water by a man from back on his head and back and to turnover the pawl which was done accurately. Then Sahl went on with people in good health .

This is a comrade of the prophet and was affected by the look of another comrade whom he did not want to hurt him. What he said of the whiteness of the comrade, he got surprised and wondered when he did not come to know that they may affect his brother the comrade with all this harm.

An evidence for this what the prophet guided him at that time as an education for him and for the nation coming later.

The Evidence from the Quran And Sunnah

In the beginning we should know that the envy is forming the malady of nations which came before us and it is not confined in this nation. It is found between the Christians and their precedors the jews. Even much much older.

Since Adam peace upon him existed in the paradise, the devil envied him on all what God The Almighty blessed him when all the angles bowed down to him, in addition to other blessings which God the Almighty benefited Adam with as already recited in the Quran as well as the permanent hatred between man and devil and as we were told by our prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation that behind each eye there resides a devil.

To comprehend the envy and the evil look in our holy book where God the Almighty says : (and the vice of the envyor when he envies ) and (Or they envy people for whatever God offered ), his Almighty’ saying ( the blasphemous mostly looked at your sternly with their eyes when they heard the Quran), the intended people here are the Jews who did not expect that the mission will be in Arabs.

Moreover what the Quran told us in the story of Yousuf and his brothers when their father requested them to go to Egypt and search for Yousuf as reported in His Almighty saying (and said, 0 my sons do not enter from one door but from several doors, I do not save you anything far from God who has the judgement and I rely on him as well as all other dependers).

Jacob God bless him had eleven sons, of nice looking, structure and form. Their father was after they might be envied if they enter from one door. Accordingly he ordered them to enter from different doors though this doing will never stop what God the Almighty decreed for them. It is only a caution and reservation.

Regarding the evidence available in the prophet’s purified sunnah which is a complementary and explanatory tools of Quran while who cites it does not cite whimsily (prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation)

These evidence are more than being computing or confinement. We report the followings: Moslem reported from Abdullah Bin Abbas God bless them who said : The prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation “Eye look is true and if anything comes in front of destiny, eye look will precede and if you take bath you should do”. Bukhari and Moslem reported from Um Salamah, God bless her that the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation said to a slave woman in her house when he saw a stain in her face: she is being envied by an eye look, incant her.

Moslem reported from Jaber God bless him who said : The prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation licensed for the snake incantation and said to Asmaa bin Umais : what I see of the bodies of my brother Dhareah weak and as if in need of help? She replied: no but the evil look is inflecting them, he replied: incant them .

H. E. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, God have mercy upon him, said in a formal opinion issued by the permanent committee of Missionary and Iftaa in a reply to a question about the effefts of the envyer’s eye on the envied person, he said : (regarding the effects of the envyer’s eye look in the envied periods, it is actually proved and happens to people. It is approved the saying of the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation : The eye look is a fact and if anything may precede the destiny, it will be eye look. Also he said “No incantation is accepted except in the case of envy of eye or fever.

There are more and more of the prophet sayings in this regard.

The Reasons for the infection by evil eye look:

Out of the reasons of infection with evil eye look are the wealth which God the Almighty offers on his worshippers as our prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation says : anybody of wealth is envied .

If God the Almighty benefacted his creatures and their wealth is increased or their features are improved or being given while others not, these people will be envied for all what God offered them from his merits while one of them goes on saying “God is not fair, Why God is pouring on that individual and gives him while not giving me , God the almighty forbid, He is the fair and juster, he offers whom ever decides and stops from whom ever he decides, pours on whom he decides or stops from whom he decides, he is of complete knowledge of his worshippers and totally sighting them.

From now on the envy takes place between people as well as the hatred, intrigues and the hope of wealth vanish from others. All these characters are coming from the vicious souls which devil fizzled it highly when encouraging the evil things inside it for the hope of removing the wealth from others while acquiring it.

The Effects and Harms of Evil eye look on Others:

After mentioning the confirmed and sound evidences as reported in the Quran and our prophet’s God bless him and Grant him Salvation Sunnah that the evil eye look has an effect on others.

If the matter is not as them, God the Almighty would not ordered us to seek God’s protection from the evils of the envyers and our prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation would not ordered us to seek God’s protection from any vicious and enviers .

Accordingly the envy and evil eye has that effect as alread reported in the texts of the concern, the reasons are abundant. This does not mean that any thing happens to our life which Gold the Almighty alread decreed is a result of evil look or envy as some people believe, definitely the matter is no so.

Some texts came glorifying the affairs of eye, when the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation

Said as already texted by Al-Bazar reported from Jaber God bless him who said: The prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation Majority of deaths in my nation are caused after God’s almighty decreed, by the spirits,he means the eye” In the sound series of the scholar Nasseruddin Al-Albani, second volume, page 580, discourse No.889 : The eye after the permission of God the Almighty encourages the man to ascend more more and more, then man falls, i.e. the man may ascend a high mountain then falls down because of a reason from others.

All these evidences mean that eye is so powerful in man, animal and inorganic bodies, ..etc on all what can be called grace and benefactions of God offering his worshippers in whatever form as he likes or even punishment .

So We pray to God the Almighty to offer us as well as our brothers the moslems to spread on us the health and protect us from any evil doings, to protect us against the enviers and conspirators and reflects back the conspires to their throats.

How we protect ourselves against the evils of eye:

Eye evil look is a type of disease and sickness . As the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation said “whatever God the Almighty descended of diseases, God descended the respective medicine, who ever knows and/or who ever ignores . As the evil eye is a disease, so the treatment for recovery is required before afflicting and after.

Treatment the effects of eye before and after afflication:

Each Moslem, male or female, can protect him/her self against evil look of eye as well as other disease before such affliction takes place.

This is can be executed by reciting legal verses from the holy quran and the confirmed discourses of the master of creatures, our prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation. Out of this is what had been mentioned by our father sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz (God may pay mercy upon him) when he said (moreover the moslem should forify himself from all devils rebellious demons and the man evils by reinforcement of belief in God , depending on him and relying on him, refuging and begging to him, multi reading of Muawathataim , Al-Ikhlas, Al-Fateh and Ayat Al-Kursi) , multi reciting of the photetical spellings which had been reported from the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation , out of which what had been reported by Bukhari and Termizi already recalled from Ibn Abbas (God May pay mercy upon him) that the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation was incanting both Al-Hassan and Al-Hussain by saying “I refuge to the complete texts of Allah to protect you from every evil and pest, from every evil eye mean look “, your father Ibrahim used to incant both Ismail and Isaaq with them”.

Termazi reported a sound discourse of the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation that he was teaching his comrades to recite these words “ Complete words of God save me from his anger and the evil of his worshippers, from the devils’ spurs even if they are evoked”.

Abdullah Bin Amru Bin Al-Ass was teaching this discourse to his grownup children. There are more discourses such as what the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation said “I refuge to the complete words of God from all his evil creatures” Ibn Al-Qayem Al-Jouzieh said (out of the prophetical spells, the incantation of Jebril peace upon him which he made for the prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation exactly as reported by Moslem in his Sahih Book “I spell you in the name of God from any disease may harm you and from any evil of any man or the eye of any envyer, God recover you, in the name of God I spell you”.

Epilogue :

After this discussion on the evil eye and its definition and providing some evidences on it from the Holy book and Sunnah, we conclude by reporting the following fruitful text where the scholar Ibn Al-Qayyem, Mau God mercy him, described the eye when saying:“No suspicion that God the Almighty created in the bodies and souls such forces and different characters, imprinted in several numbers of them such characteristics and effective conditions.

It is not possible for any sane to reject or deny the effect of souls in the bodies, in actual it is a sensible and sighted case. You see how the face becomes very red in colour if he is looked at by somebody else whom he respects and consequently gets bashful, becomes very bale when looking on whom he fears.

People had witnessed individual who would become sick because of focusing sight on him while his power weakens. All these things happens by the effect of souls, due to the extent of connection with eye, the action is related to eye while it is not the doer but it is by the effect of soul.

Souls are different in character, structure, conditions and features. The soul of body is harmful on the envied person effectively, so God the Almighty ordered his prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation to refuge to him against the evil. No body can deny the effect of the envying person in afflicting the envied person except who are outside the factual humanity.

It is the origin of afflicting by eye when the envying and vicious spirit adopts the malicious conditions and confronts the envied person and afflicts him with that quality. The most similar creature to this is the snake whose poison is hiding inside till confronting the enemy and the poison is pouring forcefully and agrily. This spirit adopted the harmful and vicious quality. In Some of them the qualities are reinforced to the degree of affecting the fetus to loss, others affecting in the losing of sight as previously our prophet God bless him and Grant him Salvation reported in the curtailed and the snakes of two flotages which “looking after sight and aborting the prgnants” , reported by Bokhari
